A Tale of Two Books

Heaven is for Real by Todd Burpo, Lynne Vincent

This is a true story of a little boy who has a near death experience and visits heaven and then returns to life. He is the son of a Pastor in America and the account of what happened in the few minutes he was gone is very convincing. There is a DVD and the bestselling book has sold ten million copies. This is a book of hope.

In today’s Gospel Jesus talks about the afterlife where those “judged worthy of a place in the other world and in the Resurrection from the dead… are the same as angels” (Luke 20:27 – 38). This was in answers to a trick question by the Sadducees who did not believe in the resurrection.

God has made us to “know, love, and serve Him and to be happy with Him in Heaven forever,” in the words of the old catechism of the Catholic Church. This is the purpose of our lives and God calls each and everyone to this and in the words of Colton the boy in the story, to know Jesus in our heart.

The Secret Plague

This is a book I did not set out to write and flowed from a “what if” moment. It practically wrote itself. I just had to sit down and bring this futuristic pro life story to life. The story unfolds a thousand years from now when a group of students stumble across an historical black hole. What had happened in this inaccessible period of history contains a defining message for our time. I make no apologies for the scenario which unfolds in the story. I really hope pray it makes a difference. Available from Amazon and Good News books.
